The prosecutor recommended three months in jail with credit for time served when the possible maximum sentence was 12 months. The case was assigned to Judge Brian McDonald for sentencing. Thanks to your petition, the many animal lovers who sent Judge McDonald letters and emails, and the fine human beings who showed up at the sentencing to support us, Judge McDonald sentenced Mr. Williams to 8 months in the county jail.
The printed-out version of your petition, several inches thick, was quite the visual at the sentencing!
