Sign: Gut-Wrenching Video Of Juveniles Drowning Caged Kitten

Benton County, Missouri – A sickening video was recently posted to social media platforms showing two male juveniles purposefully drowning a live kitten. The video footage is gut-wrenching, and it has angered thousands of online viewers.

In the video you can see the young kitten gasping and flailing inside the water-filled cage, her small paws scraping the metal frantically as she fights for breath.

Her panic is unmistakable, as is her will to live.

And then, unbearably, her movements slow…her tiny body goes limp, and the last of the air in her fragile lungs is replaced by water. The innocent kitten, who only wanted to live, dies before our eyes.

Note: The video of the drowning below is extremely graphic and excruciating to watch.

This is an extraordinarily cruel and senseless crime, and it has justifiably caused a massive outcry from those who have viewed the video. Following a deluge of calls from outraged people, the Benson County Sheriff’s Office issued a statement about the situation…acknowledging that they are aware of what happened and noting that it was investigated on August 31, 2025.

This investigation is now in the hands of the Benton County Juvenile Officer and the Juvenile Court. We need your signature to ensure that court officials know the public wants these teens to be held accountable!

It bears noting that there are also allegations that one of the teens has also fatally stabbed a dog. This is sociopathic behavior, and it must be stopped before more innocent animals and/or people are hurt or killed. Please help us bring these teens to justice!

WHY THIS PETITION MATTERS: 

We, the undersigned, demand that the juveniles responsible for purposefully drowning this caged kitten be held accountable for their reprehensible actions. It is our collective demand that these individuals be criminally charged for this cruel incident. Laws must recognize the actual seriousness of animal abuse and ensure that those who commit these brutal acts are held fully accountable.

Research has consistently shown a strong link between animal cruelty and human violence. Individuals who commit such heinous acts against animals often pose a threat to society as a whole, as animal abuse is frequently a precursor to other violent crimes. Failing to hold these young men accountable not only denies justice to the innocent kitten who suffered a horrific, painful death by drowning but also endangers the community at large. We must send a clear message that such cruelty will not be tolerated.

Individuals are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law. Animal Victory relies upon the authorities and the court system to determine guilt or innocence.

Note: Animal Victory has the names of the two juveniles who are believed to be responsible for drowning the kitten. We will include those names in our correspondence with Benton County officials.
