Sign: Find Person Who Glued Cat’s Face And Left Her To Die

Published: August 20, 2024 at 02:33 PM Author: PENNY EIMS

Columbia, SC – A cat is recovering after someone covered her eyes, nose, and mouth with glue. The cat, dubbed Emmie, was found behind an air-conditioning unit at the Spring Lake Apartments in July and she was admitted to Columbia Veterinary Emergency Trauma and Specialty for life-saving care. The veterinary specialists determined that not only had the cat’s face been covered in glue, but someone had cut off her whiskers and shaved off part of her fur.

This innocent cat was targeted, subjected to inhumane torture, and left to die – if she had not been found, she would have suffered a slow and miserable death. Heartbreakingly, she likely walked up to her abuser, trusting that she would not be hurt.

This despicable act of cruelty happened weeks ago, but whoever is responsible has not been identified. In a news release, Doll Stanley, Senior Campaigner at In Defense of Animals, said:

“Anyone who cruelly harms an animal must face justice. Data clearly shows those who abuse animals are a danger to all society.”

The agency is offering a $2,500 reward with the hope that tips will come in and lead to an arrest. Stanley said, “We hope this reward will encourage someone to come forward and share information about who may have harmed this precious cat. If you know anything, please call in your tip right away.”

Humane Society in Columbia is also offering a $2500 reward for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the abuser.

With the help of For the Love of Street Dogs, Emmie has been making a slow and steady recovery, fighting through infections and vision loss. But her abuser needs to be identified and punished.

Emmie deserves justice. Your signature and shares will help Animal Victory, and In Defense of Animals, spread awareness. If and when someone is identified and charged, Animal Victory will fight to put them behind bars for as long as possible.

Someone knows something! Anyone with information pertinent to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for this cruelty should contact In Defense of Animals at doll@idausa.org or (662) 809-4483.

Note: A portion of the collected donations will go to the rescue organization who has been providing Emmie with care.

Individuals are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law. Animal Victory relies upon the authorities and the court system to determine guilt or innocence.

Ms. Kite, I apologize for the late reply but I have been on annual leave. Concerning an update on “Emmie” , she is doing great with her new foster family and though the investigation has slowed, even with the new reward offering of $5000, be assured that the investigation will continue till a successful conclusion is made.

Sergeant L.W. Harrison, Richland County Sheriff’s Department
