Sign: Find Person Who Glued Cat’s Face And Left Her To Die

Published: August 20, 2024 at 02:33 PM Author: PENNY EIMS

Columbia, SC – A cat is recovering after someone covered her eyes, nose, and mouth with glue. The cat, dubbed Emmie, was found behind an air-conditioning unit at the Spring Lake Apartments in July and she was admitted to Columbia Veterinary Emergency Trauma and Specialty for life-saving care. The veterinary specialists determined that not only had the cat’s face been covered in glue, but someone had cut off her whiskers and shaved off part of her fur.

This innocent cat was targeted, subjected to inhumane torture, and left to die – if she had not been found, she would have suffered a slow and miserable death. Heartbreakingly, she likely walked up to her abuser, trusting that she would not be hurt.

This despicable act of cruelty happened weeks ago, but whoever is responsible has not been identified. In a news release, Doll Stanley, Senior Campaigner at In Defense of Animals, said:

“Anyone who cruelly harms an animal must face justice. Data clearly shows those who abuse animals are a danger to all society.”

The agency is offering a $2,500 reward with the hope that tips will come in and lead to an arrest. Stanley said, “We hope this reward will encourage someone to come forward and share information about who may have harmed this precious cat. If you know anything, please call in your tip right away.”

Humane Society in Columbia is also offering a $2500 reward for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the abuser.

With the help of For the Love of Street Dogs, Emmie has been making a slow and steady recovery, fighting through infections and vision loss. But her abuser needs to be identified and punished.

Emmie deserves justice. Your signature and shares will help Animal Victory, and In Defense of Animals, spread awareness. If and when someone is identified and charged, Animal Victory will fight to put them behind bars for as long as possible.

Someone knows something! Anyone with information pertinent to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for this cruelty should contact In Defense of Animals at doll@idausa.org or (662) 809-4483.

Note: A portion of the collected donations will go to the rescue organization who has been providing Emmie with care.

Individuals are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law. Animal Victory relies upon the authorities and the court system to determine guilt or innocence.

Update 8/29/2024: We have been informed The Humane Society Of Columbia is doing a lot of investigating at this time.

For everyone following Emmie’s story and her incredible healing journey, just look at her now! Emmie has made ENORMOUS improvements since she was first found. We are so incredibly happy for sweet Emmie and her new family! Although we are excited for Emmie to start this new chapter in her life, we have NOT forgotten the torment she endured.

If you have any information, no matter how small, about who committed the cruelty against Emmie, please contact us. You can send an email to info@humanesc.org or call us at 803-783-1267. I’m not talking about 5 years. Maybe if we have stiffer sentencing laws maybe this would slow down. These poor animals needs us. 0 Jan 08, 2025

21,402 Carla J. This is a felony and must be persecuted as such. And, the laws that persecute these abusers must be changed, as these voiceless animals is no different to abusing and murdering an innocent child, as that is what these fur babies are! Toughen the laws and end or greatly curtail these abuses. 0 Jan 07, 2025
