At least three dogs have reportedly died, and one puppy suffered multiple broken legs.

Pets in his care reportedly fell down stairs, off balconies, cat towers, furniture, and refrigerators. Veterinarians documented a wide range of injuries and illnesses, including burns, abrasions, swelling, head trauma, broken bones, lung collapse, hemorrhaging, contusions, and infections.

In September 2019, Willbanks took a one-month-old kitten to a pet hospital that was on a kitchen counter and reportedly burned its ear on the stove and cut its chin. Willbanks declined recommended treatment. He returned twice with the kitten in the following week. At the first follow-up, the vet noted possible infections, but Willbanks declined further tests. Finally, Willbanks brought the kitten back because its mouth was swollen and its paw pads were inflamed and peeling. The vet determined the kitten was very sick and unlikely to survive treatment, so euthanization was recommended and performed.

Within a two-week period between April and May 2021, Willbanks brought a two-month-old kitten to a pet hospital for two reported falls. The first incident caused head trauma and bleeding from its genitals after allegedly falling off a refrigerator. The second resulted in a femur fracture after falling off a cat tower. Willbanks declined the vet’s recommended treatment plan.

In January 2023, a one-year-old cat’s leg was amputated due to a broken femur. The cat also suffered a pneumothorax (air between ribs and lungs). Willbanks claimed the cat had fallen off a balcony.

In May 2024, a three-month-old puppy was reacquired by its original owner. The owner took the puppy to a veterinarian; it had a bloodshot eye with green discharge and a swollen jaw. The puppy was dehydrated and underfed, with a ruptured eye blood vessel likely caused by trauma.

Between November 2024 and January 2025, a two-and-a-half-month-old puppy suffered four broken bones from four different incidents. It had three surgeries to repair two femurs, a fibula, and a tibia. During the fourth incident, the vet discovered evidence of older bone breaks in its ribs and forearm.

In May 2025, Willbanks brought an unresponsive three-month-old puppy with a fractured C2 vertebra, pneumothorax, and bruising and fluid in the lungs. The severity of injuries was unexpected for a puppy falling down stairs. The puppy was humanely euthanized.

In July 2025, Willbanks brought a nine-week-old puppy to the vet after it reportedly fell off a futon and was unresponsive. The puppy died on the way to the hospital. The necropsy report indicated head trauma, bleeding inside the skull, and brain as the cause of death.
