Sign: Caught on Video: Man Hurls Three-Month Old Kitten Into Wall and Parking Lot

Henderson, Nevada – A 27-year-old Nevada man is facing multiple charges stemming from a cruel incident in December involving a young kitten named Suki. The accused, identified by the authorities as Angel Ventura Ayala, hurled the innocent three-month-old kitten into a wall, and then into a parking lot – recording the abuse and sending the video to his 19-year-old girlfriend in an alleged attempt to intimidate her.

The individual, whose name has been redacted, showed me the video that was sent to her. I observed Angel outside of his apartment door holding up the cat. He was talking in the video and eventually threw the cat against the wall. The cat bounces off the wall and hits the floor. Angel picks up the cat again and throws the cat towards the parking lot area at which time I could hear the cat cry.

According to the police report, Ayala also pulled a gun from his waistband, “racked a round and threatened” his girlfriend as she searched for her injured kitten.

The damning evidence resulted in Ayala’s arrest and multiple charges including:

•  Felony domestic violence abuse with a deadly weapon
•  Two felony counts of animal abuse with the intent to threaten or terrorize an individual.

Under Nevada’s newly enacted Reba’s Law, felony animal abuse intended to threaten or intimidate carries a potential sentence of up to six years in prison.

WHY THIS PETITION MATTERS: 

We, the undersigned, demand that Angel Ventura Ayala be held accountable for willfully hurting an innocent kitten in a malicious attempt to intimidate his girlfriend. It is our collective demand that Ayala face the maximum sentence for the charges stemming from the December 16 incident. We also demand that this man be permanently banned from owning, residing with, or working with animals.

This petition is based on information from law enforcement and public officials. Details may change as investigations proceed, and updates will be made upon verified documentation. Note: Suki was found and taken to a veterinarian to be treated for injuries before being turned over to Henderson Animal Shelter, according to the police report. It is unknown if Suki has been retrieved from the shelter. Ayala’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 11. His attorney had no comment on the case.
