Sign: Caught on Video: Woman Throws and Kicks Puppy to its Death

Hillsborough County, Florida – A 33-year-old Tampa woman is facing multiple charges following her abuse of a Maltese puppy who ultimately died because of her actions. According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, Imania Davis was caught on video carrying the puppy by his neck, throwing him to the road, kicking him, hitting him in the head, and throwing him again.

In heartbreaking video footage captured by the Sheriff’s Office Eye on Crime cameras, the white puppy can be seen limping back toward his abuser, tail tucked, after the first time he was hurled across the road. Sadly, the abuse did not end there.

After the terrified puppy walked back to Davis, she proceeded to kick him, hit him twice in the head, and then throw him again.

A Sheriff’s Office employee witnessed the abuse unfolding in real time through a Real Time Crime Center camera feed. A deputy was immediately dispatched to the scene, where they found the injured puppy terrified, helpless, and unable to move. The violent incident left the Maltese puppy with a broken leg and a bleeding nose.

The injured, traumatized puppy was transported to the Hillsborough County Pet Resource Center for treatment and care. Initially, hopes were high for the puppy, who was supposed to recuperate from his injuries and then be adopted to a new family. But during the surgery to amputate his badly broken leg, he passed away…the trauma to his young body proving too much to survive.

This is a sickening act of cruelty.

In a news conference, Sheriff Chad Chronister said:

“I truly feel that anyone who would harm and inflict the type of pain she did to this little puppy has a special place in hell one day, when that day comes for her.”

Why This Petition Matters

Imania Davis must be held fully accountable for what she did to this innocent puppy! Because of her actions, a puppy suffered horrific injuries, unimaginable pain, and ultimately death. She is facing multiple counts of aggravated animal cruelty, and we demand that she face the maximum penalty allowed by law for all charges stemming from this incident. We further demand that she be prohibited from owning or living with animals in the future.

Animal Protection Laws in Florida

Under Florida law, aggravated animal cruelty is a third-degree felony punishable by up to five years in prison and/or a $5,000 fine for each count. Because Florida law allows prosecutors to charge a separate offense for each animal victim, Imania Davis could potentially face significant prison time and fines if convicted on all six counts. Courts may also prohibit those convicted of animal cruelty from owning or possessing animals in the future.

Note: According to online jail records, Davis remains in jail on $75,000 bond.
