Bridge City, Texas – A shocking and prolonged act of animal cruelty that claimed the life of an innocent cat has resulted in a 14-year-old boy facing a felony charge of cruelty to animals. Police have not released the name of the juvenile caught on surveillance video stealing and chasing a tabby cat, and then stomping, kicking, and throwing her against a wall in a lengthy attack that reportedly lasted for an hour.

AT A GLANCE

    • Surveillance footage reportedly shows a juvenile violently throwing and stomping a family cat repeatedly over nearly an hour on October 14, 2026, at approximately 1:30 a.m.

    • The juvenile was arrested October 15 and faces a third-degree felony charge of cruelty to animals. He was transported to the Minnie Rogers Juvenile Justice Center in Jefferson County.
    • The juvenile suspect was taken into custody and transported to the Minnie Rogers Juvenile Justice Center in Jefferson County on the evening of Oct. 15.
    • The cat: Sadly, she died after being thrown against the brick wall.

The surveillance video shows the heartbreaking series of events. Initially, the cat can be seen desperately trying to escape from the boy chasing her.

After catching up to the cat, the video shows the boy stomping on the cat, kicking her, and then stomping on her again.

When cars pass, he stops. When the cars are gone, the abuse begins again.

Warning: The video, albiet brief, shows the stomping.

The cat suffers horribly from being kicked and stomped on, but it was being hurled into a brick wall that ultimately took her life.

Her killer walks away, leaving his tiny victim’s battered body behind.

This was a chilling, prolonged (lasting an hour according to the timestamps on the surveillance video) attack on a small, defenseless cat who did nothing to deserve the pain and suffering inflicted on her.

Cruelty to animals is not simply an isolated act of violence. Research has repeatedly identified a troubling connection between deliberate animal abuse in youth and an increased risk of future violence toward people.
If you want justice for this innocent cat and are concerned about the risk this teen presents to society as a whole, please add your name to the petition!
