Sign: Dog Beaten, Dragged, Killed After Being Thrown Twice from Bridge

Published: March 11, 2025 at 06:01 PM Author: PENNY EIMS

Memphis, Tennessee – On Friday, February 28, 18-year-old Christopher Triplett brutally beat and dragged a dog to a pedestrian bridge in Memphis, Tennessee. The teen threw the dog from the bridge – not once, but twice – killing the dog.

Dead after being thrown from a pedestrian bridge twice.

The shocking display of violence was captured on security video- making its rounds on social media before police were able to identify and track down the man responsible for the deadly incident. On March 9, 2025, a warrant was issued charging 18-year-old Christopher Triplett with Aggravated Animal Cruelty.

Dog being dragged (apparently by the front legs – see shadow) to the pedestrian bridge before being beaten and thrown to his death.

Now Animal Victory needs your help to put this violent teen away for as long as possible. This case must not be dismissed in court – we need to show court officials that WE care about animal cruelty, and we DEMAND justice. Please sign to lend your support!

Video of crime – warning, disturbing content.

Target: Shelby County District Attorney Steve Mulroy

WHY THIS PETITION MATTERS:

We, the undersigned, demand that Christopher Triplett be held accountable for cruelly taking the life of an innocent dog. This man beat, dragged, and threw the dog from a pedestrian bridge, not once, but twice. The dog was undoubtedly injured and in pain from the first plunge into the ground, and Triplett dragged him up again to complete his killing mission. Animal Victory and its supporters demand that Triplett face true repercussions for his abhorrent behavior. This man must be held accountable for his actions. We demand Christopher Triplett to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law for the charge of Aggravated animal cruelty, which is a Class E felony in Tennessee.

Research has consistently shown a strong link between animal cruelty and human violence. Individuals who commit such heinous acts against animals often pose a threat to society as a whole, as animal abuse is frequently a precursor to other violent crimes. Failing to hold this man accountable not only denies justice for the dog who died at his hands but also endangers the community at large. It is imperative that we send a clear message that such cruelty will not be tolerated.

Individuals are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law. Animal Victory relies upon the authorities and the court system to determine guilt or innocence.

Note: Christopher Triplett was booked into jail and he is being held on $100,000 bond. He will be prosecuted as an adult for aggravated animal cruelty. On Thursday, March 13 at 9 AM, Triplett is
due in court – at this appearance, it will be determined if he has an attorney or if he will be in need of a court-appointed one. Case #2503020794ME

His Bond Reduced! Major disappointment for animal advocates today in a Memphis courtroom in the case of 18-year-old Christopher Triplett…Judge Karen Massey slashing his bond from 100 thousand to just $10,000. Also ordering him to take MRT classes and get his GED and undergo a mental evaluation once he is out of custody. One longtime advocate in the courtroom telling me she is extremely disappointed in today’s outcome. She isn’t the only one.

26,729 Robin L. No animal no matter what anyone's circumstance is should be hurt or killed. The courts need to take these crimes seriously and punish these offenders to the fullest extent if the law. They should never be allowed to own another animal. There needs to be a national registry for all shelters to access. 0 Jul 16, 2025

26,727 Jennifer A. The judge should have been disbarred and must like animal abusers. Who in their right mind would have reduced his bond? 😡 His sentence should have been carried out exactly the way that he did that dog so that he would never be able to hurt another animal or human for that matter again in this life time. When you start doing an eye for an eye on people, they'll think twice before they do stuff like this. Humans are the true monsters 0 Jul 16, 2025
