Sign: Dog Beaten, Dragged, Killed After Being Thrown Twice from Bridge

Memphis, Tennessee – On Friday, February 28, 18-year-old Christopher Triplett brutally beat and dragged a dog to a pedestrian bridge in Memphis, Tennessee. The teen threw the dog from the bridge – not once, but twice – killing the dog.

The shocking display of violence was captured on security video, making its rounds on social media before police were able to identify and track down the man responsible for the deadly incident. On March 9, 2025, a warrant was issued charging 18-year-old Christopher Triplett with Aggravated Animal Cruelty.

Now, Animal Victory needs your help to put this violent teen away for as long as possible. This case must not be dismissed in court – we need to show court officials that WE care about animal cruelty, and we DEMAND justice. Please sign to lend your support!

WHY THIS PETITION MATTERS: 

We, the undersigned, demand that Christopher Triplett be held accountable for cruelly taking the life of an innocent dog. This man beat, dragged, and threw the dog from a pedestrian bridge, not once, but twice. The dog was undoubtedly injured and in pain from the first plunge into the ground, and Triplett dragged him up again to complete his killing mission. Animal Victory and its supporters demand that Triplett face true repercussions for his abhorrent behavior. This man must be held accountable for his actions. We demand Christopher Triplett to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law for the charge of Aggravated animal cruelty, which is a Class E felony in Tennessee.

Research has consistently shown a strong link between animal cruelty and human violence. Individuals who commit such heinous acts against animals often pose a threat to society as a whole, as animal abuse is frequently a precursor to other violent crimes. Failing to hold this man accountable not only denies justice for the dog who died at his hands but also endangers the community at large. It is imperative that we send a clear message that such cruelty will not be tolerated.

Individuals are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law. Animal Victory relies upon the authorities and the court system to determine guilt or innocence.

Note: Christopher Triplett was booked into jail and is being held on a $100,000 bond. He will be prosecuted as an adult for aggravated animal cruelty. On Thursday, March 13 at 9 AM, Triplett is

Update 11/05/2025: The indictment is still pending. Christopher Triplett’s case number has been changed to #H2503090.

Update 10/09/2025: Assistant District Attorney Tim Beacham called Animal Victory. Christopher Triplett’s case number has changed to #H2503090. The case is still pending an indictment. 

Update 9/25/2025: Christopher Triplett’s case was moved to the Criminal Court in Shelby, TN. However, he has not yet been indicted by the criminal court. The clerk at the Shelby County Criminal Court encouraged Animal Victory to call back on a monthly basis, since Grand Jury Indictments can take anywhere from six months up to a year.

Update 8/22/2025: This case has been completely moved from General Sessions Court to the Criminal Court. He will need to be indicted by the Criminal Court. The case number will change, the prosecuting attorney will change, and the judge will change. One good thing that has come out of this transfer is that Criminal Court is a higher court and the sentencing is much higher. In General Sessions, Triplett could only have been sentenced to a maximum of 11 months and 29 days. Animal Victory will check back to see if Triplett has been indicted.

Update 6/15/2025: A disposition of this case is scheduled for 06/26/2025 at 9:00 AM with Judicial Officer Karen Massey, Case #25003902 Christopher Triplett. A final forfeiture is scheduled for November 3, 2025, with Judicial Officer Karen Massey at 9:00 a.m.

Update 5/19/2025: Another mental evaluation has been scheduled for Chris Triplett on 06/12/2025 at 9:00 AM by Judge Karen Massey, and previously scheduled for a mental evaluation on 5/19/2025.

His Bond Reduced! Major disappointment for animal advocates today in a Memphis courtroom in the case of 18-year-old Christopher Triplett…Judge Karen Massey slashing his bond from 100 thousand to just $10,000. Also ordering him to take MRT classes and get his GED and undergo a mental evaluation once he is out of custody. One longtime advocate in the courtroom telling me she is extremely disappointed in today’s outcome. She isn’t the only one.
