Coyotes help maintain species diversity and ecosystem balance. They are NATURAL rodent control. Armadillos help control insect populations amongst so many things. These animals are crucial and deserving of human aid when needed.

Nuisance is not a species. It is a specific behavior, and often only one human's perception. Many in the public value these animals, as they should, for their intrinsic and ecological value. So should you. If you disallow the rescue and rehabilitation of ANY animals, you are leaving the public no ethical choice but to attempt to care for animals they have no experience with. Many will. You are creating a liability for yourself, and for the public. The public demand for wildlife assistance is growing annually and exponentially. It feels very negligent for any agency to not realize these facts, and to not be working towards meeting the public's expectations of THEIR state wildlife agency. We operate a national wildlife conflict public assistance hotline. We know firsthand that this country needs FAR more attention on the lack of public resources provided by state agencies.

Louisiana is a beautiful state and has wildlife that is both fascinating and beautiful. It is our responsibility to coexist and to protect and care for wildlife. Wildlife rehabilitation is an important part of our responsibility to care for our ecosystems. Louisiana must keep rehabilitating armadillos and coyotes. They need us to help them. Thank you for your attention to this.

As someone who grew up all over Florida-I know how important both coyotes and armadillos are to a healthy ecosystem. Every state, who’s lucky enough to have these two cornerstone animals, needs to do everything in their power to keep them. Hindering or banning rehabbers from saving them is ridiculous. Focus your energy on positivity; like building more wildlife crossings instead of trying to stop people from helping our wildlife.

Allowing any animal to suffer is NOT OK. This is even worse, as the rescuers won't be able to help these poor animals. Who ever came up with this cruel idea you are sick. They may not be humans, but they are babies, nonetheless. I think it is horrible that you move to eliminate care of the a helpless creature. “The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way in which its animals are treated. I don’t believe any animal or living being is a nuisance! It is our responsibility to care for our wildlife as they have no other voice, but ours! A Majority of the time these animals are wounded or injured due to humans! whether being hit on roads or stuck in a trap or attacked by domestic animals! It is our duty to help these animals!

Just leave well enough alone while you can!!! Each animal here has a purpose!! If There are too many in an area then sterilize some of the females but extermination is not the answer

Time and again, nature has shown us the danger of trying to eliminate one species or another. It always comes back to harm humans in the end. Additionally, sick or injured animals often start looking for easier sources of food, most often human trash or domestic animals. By removing authorized care for these animals, it is possible that human interactions will increase, ending badly for all parties.

The prohibition of helping injured animals of any breed or species is inhumane and should be unethical. From the perspective of biological diversity, both of the animals impacted by this ridiculous proposal have a positive impact on the ecological system. The higher likely hood of people encountering predator animals like coyotes results from human intrusion on natural spaces; not the other way around.
