Wake County, NC – An unlucky dog named Ronald had his fair share of disappointment while at the SPCA of Wake County. Less than a week ago, the animal welfare agency alerted Facebook followers to his sad plight, explaining how he had repeatedly been failed by adopters. The agency explained:
Help us break Ronald’s unlucky streak! 14 adoptions have fallen through for this lovely guy — mostly due to being too big/strong. It’s true, he’s a big boy!
Fourteen failures for a handsome, smart, very good boy.
The shelter’s post was meant to help Ronald finally break out of the facility, and their hopes were realized when someone stepped up to give sweet Ronald his forever home.
On Tuesday, the shelter was excited to share the good news about Ronald’s adoption, writing:
Ronald’s unlucky streak has officially ended!!! 🥰 Look how happy he looks His new family says he is doing so great with the kids, and they are just obsessed with him ❤️ Thank you all so very much for sharing Ronald’s story — we were overwhelmed by your words of encouragement and generous offers to help him. In the first day, the wide reach of your shares helped Ronald reach almost a million people. Just like that, literally overnight, his whole world changed.
Networking WORKS! So the next time you see a request to help a homeless cat or dog, know that the simple act of sharing to social media could be the one thing that makes the BIG difference to the pet in need of help.
Enjoy your new life Ronald!
