It’s tragic, but please don’t dump you precious pets! Reach out for help from your local rescue, human society or even a vet’s office. You are their world, don’t treat them like garbage 😭
Can’t agree more. Sick of reading in these petitions of people dumping their pets like this. Why not just take the cats to a rescue or a no kill shelter I can sympathize that for financial reasons in today’s economic climate that some people can no longer afford their pets and that’s sad but c’mon don’t dump them like this and just hope for the best. It’s cruel and fucking irresponsible.
There are not any no kill shelters in my area & no rescues accept owner surrenders. I have helped rehome many cats whose family passed or were no longer able to care for them. It is not as easy as it sounds. I have driven cats to other states to get them to a safe place. Everyone is not able to do that. It sounds easy & rosy until you have to do it.
The economic is thriving, there’s no excuse for abandoning pets due to not being able to afford their food. And cat food is cheap. There are tons of jobs out there just waiting for people willing to work. If you can sit, you can work answering phones. If you can stand, you can be a cashier or flip burgers…there’s always jobs available for people willing to go to work. The people put the cats in the box because they were too lazy to take them to a the shelter or didn’t want to pay a basic intake fee and or were embarrassed to take them in. They should be embarrassed. Would you tape you child up in a box and leave them outside hoping someone will save them? The cats owner should be found and charged with animal abandonment and spend some time behind bars.
shelters turn you down for help very often
Pets are who we love!! We don’t mistreat them, we don’t make them go hungry, we don’t make them hunker in a corner when we beat them, THEY ARE FAMILY!! Please don’t dump your pets in order for you to survive, locate the humane society, a local rescue, or even a Vets’ office for help!! Someone at these organizations will either help you or make arrangements for help!!! PLEASE don’t give up, but seek the necessary help you need!! These cats and dogs are our only hope to make it, they are dumbfounded WITHOUT you!!!

the only good thing is this loser picked a public place to dump them. So many stories where they are dumped on side of road, in a field. So glad that they were dumped someplace they would be found and glad the public acted and found the box, and helped these kitties.
It’s extremely fortunate they were found by decent people, not the evil scumbags we hear about out there.

Our nonhuman animal companions are pricey but to just put them in a box and leave them is not the answer. Why did he not just bring them to a shelter himself? Embarrassment? Maybe but that is not how this should have gone. Does he still have the mother who is clearly not spayed? What will he do next time she gets pregnant? The same thing though hopefully not.
I would never abandon a pet, but I’m not going to judge that choice. What does pi$$ me off to no end is the fact that someone chose to put living creatures inside a sealed box not knowing if they would die before being found if ever. There are plenty of options for doing things the right way for animals rather than in a selfish manner because you don’t have the courage to do otherwise.

NEVER abandon cats! Many are struggling financially; but many shelters/rescues have assistance programs. Please try every bona fide avenue to place cats in safe haven if you are absolutely unable to care for them. They are FAMILY.
This is a sad situation. The owner could have at least taken them to the shelter instead of just dumping them. It’s always the innocent animals who suffer.
Why didn’t the POS that abandoned thee cats take them to the animal shelter?
Not terribly complicated to figure out who this is. The person who did such a horrible thing has their fingerprints on the tape they used to close the box. Yes, thankfully in this case the cats were found, but that is not because of this person. The box could have just as easily sat there for a long time with no one realizing it. This has NOTHING at all to do with the person’s food insecurity, or they would have contacted the shelter directly.
Idiotic and they could have suffocated in that small, uncomfortable box.
Why didn’t she do this herself. I’m so tired of people thinking animals are disposable. If you’re not in a position to take care of a pet FOR THEIR ENTIRE LIFE SPAN, don’t be selfish and get one. Period! Grow the fuck up!
