La Mesa, CA – A handsome, good-natured dog in California has been waiting for a home of his own for over 800 days. His name is October, and he is with the Animal Pad in La Mesa.

Attention was finally given to the overlooked pooch after a video of his sad plight was posted to TikTok. According to the animal welfare agency, nobody has EVERY applied for October.

October is our only long term dog that has never gotten an adoption application. He is looking for a foster or adoptive home as the only pet. October is crate and potty trained. He loves people, playing fetch, and toys. More than 3100 people commented on the TikTok video, but in the weeks that have passed since it was published, nobody has taken October home.

Education: Good with bathroom and crate training. Currently working on leash training. Needs continued training for leash reactivity toward other dogs.

Favorite Activities: LOVES tennis balls and squeaky toys. Loves his lick mat with yogurt or peanut butter. Loves to meet new people and could play all day.

Looking for: A loving home with a patient family who will continue to maintain his training. He will do best as the only pet in a home with a secure backyard.
